Working with adolescents and young adults is our specialty, and we also bring extensive experience supporting adults across all ages. We are committed to serving every client with genuine compassion, while continually learning and implementing the most current, evidence-based, and cutting-edge treatment modalities available.
Our practice is dedicated to helping families navigate the full psychological and psychiatric continuum. It’s common for a parent to receive a call from a school counselor expressing concern about their child, and determining the right next steps can feel overwhelming. We guide families through the entire process, offering psychological assessments, psychiatric referrals, interventions, and individual and group outpatient psychotherapy for young adults experiencing Substance Use Disorders, Process Addictions, and/or Co-Occurring Disorders.

Our therapy services provide individualized and group support designed specifically for adolescents and young adults. We incorporate holistic tools—such as meditation, yoga, and nutrition guidance—to strengthen emotional and physical well-being throughout the recovery process.

Our therapy services provide individualized and group support designed specifically for adolescents and young adults. We incorporate holistic tools—such as meditation, yoga, and nutrition guidance—to strengthen emotional and physical well-being throughout the recovery process.
We focus on building genuine, respectful therapeutic relationships that engage young people without becoming another “authority figure.” Parents also receive guidance on setting clear, consistent, and supportive boundaries.
Our goal is to help adolescents and young adults navigate identity, independence, and relationships while developing the skills and insight needed for long-term recovery and healthy adulthood.

We offer comprehensive evaluations for our clients, beginning with a 11-page intake form. The initial assessment meeting lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, during which we review the form together and begin forming a full understanding of the client’s needs. Following this, we prepare a detailed set of recommendations—essential for insurance coverage
We offer comprehensive evaluations for our clients, beginning with a 11-page intake form. The initial assessment meeting lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, during which we review the form together and begin forming a full understanding of the client’s needs. Following this, we prepare a detailed set of recommendations—essential for insurance coverage if higher levels of care are needed. We also collect information from any previous treatment experiences, if applicable.
Reviewing all this information allows us to develop a tailored treatment plan with the client (and their family, if involved). The entire evaluation process typically takes about five hours, providing sufficient time to assess, understand, and plan the next steps effectively.

Interventions are offered when your loved one has tried all other forms of support and they are still using drugs and/or alcohol. An intervention is a way to get the user into a treatment center, with the help of their support system, so they can access the best care possible.

Current research shows that the most important factor in creating meaningful change in therapy is the strength of the relationship between the therapist and the client. We recognize that every adolescent and young adult is at a unique developmental stage, so we remain flexible in our approach and treatment planning to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Emerging studies also reveal that adolescents are neurologically wired for increased thrill-seeking and high-risk behaviors, driven by a natural desire to explore new ways of thinking and being. For parents, this means learning to set firm, fair, flexible, and consistent boundaries while still remaining assertive and empowering. This balance helps prevent adolescents from feeling controlled by yet another “authority figure.” It is also normal for teens to go through periods of rebellion, regardless of the quality of parenting.
Adolescence and young adulthood are pivotal developmental phases centered around identity, independence, and connection. Erik Erikson identified adolescence as the stage of “Identity versus Role Confusion,” where young people explore who they are in relation to their peers. He described the next stage, “Intimacy versus Isolation,” as the young adult’s journey toward forming meaningful, loving relationships. Success supports deep connection; difficulty can lead to loneliness and isolation.
At Recovery & Wellness Professional Services, we are dedicated to supporting our clients’ mental health and recovery every step of the way. We assist with not only therapy but also the administrative and logistical challenges of treatment, including coordination with schools and other professionals, so clients can focus on their healing.
We work with both males and females experiencing Substance Use Disorders, Co-Occurring issues (such as unresolved trauma, attachment difficulties, depression, anxiety, or grief), and Process Addictions, such as Sex and Love Addiction, Gaming, Pathological Gambling, Codependency, Compulsive Exercise, and Eating Disorders—conditions often compounded by shame and cultural stigma.
We utilize Dr. Patrick Carnes’ “task” model, a revolutionizing process in addiction treatment. Dr. Carnes’ “30 Task Model” is a recovery model for all addictions that has been longitudinally studied with statistical rigor with over 1000 recovering sex addicts with multiple addictions. The results found that over 80% attained 5 years of “sobriety” (i.e. free from problem behavior) or more when just 18 of the 30 “Tasks” were completed.
